Social Support Program


Access  Criteria —Target Groups

a) frail, older people aged 65 yrs or Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 yrs and over who need assistance with the activities of daily living to remain independent at home and in the community .

b) regular carers of the above persons.

c) under 65 years people with a disability who are registered under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

New Clients should contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to register for services.

Daily Attendance Fee

Non-Packaged Clients = attendance fee is currently set at $15 per day but people in financial hardship may apply for a reduction.

Packaged Clients = attendance fee is currently set at $17.25 per day but people in financial hardship may apply for a reduction.

Post July 2017 clients registered under the NDIS will be required to pay hourly rates in accordance with the NDIS payment schedule.

Our Activity Program

Our activity program is designed to enhance a participant’s independence by promoting physical activity, cognitive stimulation, good nutrition, emotional well-being and social inclusion.

Our common goals focus on re-enablement and well-being but users of our service can choose to negotiate alternative individual’s goals.

A support plan is developed in consultation with each client and their carer.

The program is delivered at Waratah Centre Coffs Harbour Monday to Friday, and the CWA Hall in Woolgoolga Wednesday and Friday.

Long Day Care (Waratah Centre)

Long day care is an extension of the day program between 2.00pm-5.00pm.

In an emergency, flexible respite outside of normal hours can also be negotiated.

Waratah may also assist carers with in home respite if required.
