Waratah Respite Services is a not-for-profit organisation that provides flexible respite services in Coffs Harbour and the surrounding districts since 1987. We offer centre based social support and respite care in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga as well as flexible overnight respite in our Maureen Guthrie Cottage for older people, those living with dementia and their carers.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and flexible Administration / Human Resource (HR) Coordinator to work on a Part Time basis in a small unique centre providing Social Support Day Programs for older people and overnight residential respite in a six bed cottage in Coffs Harbour.

The Administration & HR Coordinator will work collaboratively with all teams within the organisation to provide support, coordination and administration to facilitate the delivery of business operations.

Reporting to the Manager and Team Leader Corporate Services, this role will be required to perform and assist with all administration and human resource processes.

Essential Criteria 

  • Has a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Has received the 2022 Influenza vaccination and willingness to update on an annual basis
  • Has received a minimum 3 dose of the COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues and concerns of frail older people and their carers’ in today’s society
  • Ability to demonstrate kindness and care in interactions with clients and be respectful of each person’s identity, culture and diversity
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources; Business Administration or a related discipline and/or experience in a similar role for 2-3 years.
  • A proactive, professional with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach able to work with a broad range of people.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing as an effective team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, including excel, word and publisher, as well as Information systems, and comfortable learning new technical / IT systems as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, judgement, and initiative
