We are currently seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse (RN) to work 1 day per week, with possible expansion of days, and cover periods of leave.
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be expected to apply the organisation’s vision, mission and values in the performance of this role.
While the Care Manager has overall responsibility for managing the residential services of Waratah Respite Services (WRS), the part time RN position has primary responsibility for leading, managing and co-ordinating the day-to-day operations of the service and residential service team when the Care Manager is not present .
The RN must have sound analytical skills, the ability to assess and evaluate client health information, and to plan implement and evaluate the care provided to clients at the Centre. Individualised strength-based care and support plans must be developed with clients, carers and significant others aimed at facilitating optimal health, independence, wellbeing and socialisation goals.
An RN at WRS will be required to be available for on-call after hours on a rotating roster. It is essential that the RN possess sound clinical, analytical and decision-making skills in order to manage after hour emergencies.
The RN on-call will be required to exercise sound judgement based on information provided by staff and to direct the staff on the provision of ongoing care. On-call personnel must be prepared to attend the Centre in after hour emergencies.
RN’s retain responsibility for the supervision of ENs and Care Service Employees whilst maintaining accountability for their own actions under the Nursery & Midwifery Board of Australia National Competency Standards.
